Giovanna Hernandez

Giovanna Hernandez is the Senior Finance Analyst for the Virginia Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) Network, where she coordinates and manages financial activities for the entire Network. Her role ensures smooth operations and adherence to established federal policies and procedures. She serves as the primary resource for financial operations within the SBDC Network and local centers.

Before joining the VA SBDC Network, she worked at the GMU Office of Sponsored Programs, where she was responsible for the financial management and closeout of research grants. Her role included preparing and submitting federal and non-federal financial reports for sponsored projects, ensuring compliance with federal guidelines and internal procedures related to grant management, reviewing new awards and modifications for invoicing and reporting requirements, and ensuring the timely closeout of awards.
